Spandana Foundation in collaboration with Telugu Association of Minnesota has organized Spandana Super Singer – Minneapolis competitions on July 17, 2010 at Oak Grove Middle School, Bloomington, Minnesota. Popular play back singer of south Indian film industry  Mr. Parthu was the judge for  this event. Before the auditions, Mr. Parthu the event judge, a professional musician spent quite a bit of time with all the contestants discussing about techniques of professional singing and art of music. This training session was very well appreciated by all contestants as it is one of the rarest occasions to quickly learn some professional techniques just before the competition.

The competitions were started with a welcome speech by  Venkat Kothur, who was the MC for the event. He introduced the judge of the event Mr. Parthu and invited a local singer Pallvi to start the program with a prayer song. The auditions started with 4 juniors singing hindi, telugu and  tamil songs and every one enjoyed with great appreciation and support for young kids. The more intense competition began as 20 adult contestants presenting variety of songs in Telugu, tramil, and Hindi including classical and film songs. The judge Parthu was extremely keen in observing and praising the talent while suggesting areas of improvements and providing tips for each participant. At this stage 10 of the adult contestants and all 4 juniors were selected for final round.

Before final round, Kiran Jadhav talked about Spandana activities and Vivekananda, Director Manjeera Construction who were the promoters for the event made a presentation and explained about their products and services. The final round was highly competitive and intense. The judge Parthu was very impressed with the final performers and expressed the difficulty in picking the winners with very close scores.  In an unprecedented move 6 contestants were promoted to Mega Finale. The Minnesota Super singer was decided between two candidates who were in tie with audience support with an extra round between two. Vinod Krishnan was declared Spandana Super Singer Minnesota and Prachi Apte won the second place while Mythili Udupa, Vidya Kundavaram, Kiran Govindu,Shankar Krishnan were selected for Mega Finals in Adult category and Priyadarsani Kanajam, and Shreya Shankar were selected in junior category. All the winners were given awards by Parthu, TEAM associates Vasanth Changanti, GP Rao , Saladi Naidu, Kiran Jadhav and  Vivekanada of Manjeera Constructions.

All the contestants, participants and audience who attended the event have thanked the organizers - Telugu association of Minnesota and Spandana Foundations for providing an opportunity to show case their talent. Program ended with Vote of thanks from TEAM president Vasanth Chaganti.
